Large format. Green cloth spine, pictorial front board. 2 colour plates by Lucie Attwell, B/w text illustrations by various artists. First story is "The Sick Doll's Diary". 9.75" x 7". Spine and corners worn, lower 1" of spine was split and has been glued down. Edges rubbed. Joints cracked. Foxing and grubby fingermarks to contents.

Poems that are "the very essence of the British spirit" selected and introduced by Nichols. All plates present. Spine slightly bumped. Rear cover a little scuffed. 4 x 4 inch piece cut from top corner of front endpaper. Contents near fine.

Spine bumped and rubbed with small splits to top and bottom. Corners bumped and worn. Board edges rubbed. Covers grubby and marked. Front joint cracked and mended with tape. Frontis detached. Slight colouring to one plate. Pencil scribble to rear endpapers and some other pages. Red pen and pencil scribble to verso of one plate. A little foxing and some fingering to page margins.

A charming collection of 18 original fairy stories in the classic manner. Illustrated blue cloth covers. Colour frontis plate, b/w chapter headings and tail pieces throughout. 144 pages. 8.25 x 6". Spine a little bumped. Foxing to prelims and text block. Contents very good. Dustwrapper is edge worn with a few small tears and chips. Also a bit grubby, especially spine. 1" tear to top edge of front panel.

Covers slightly grubby with a few marks and scratches, small amount of surface paper damage to front cover. A couple of hinges cracked. Ink inscription to verso of front endpaper. Pale stain to edge of title page and small stain to lower margin of frontis. Contents generally clean. All plates present.

Both joints and a couple of hinges starting to crack. A couple of margin tears. Puzzle partially completed. Some foxing and browning. Contents generally clean. All colour illustrations present.
