Two pop-up scenes - In the Toy Shop and The Lord Mayor's Show. First story is "The Magic Gift". Spine and corners bumped and worn. Covers slightly scratched and grubby. Frontis has slightly ragged edges. Foxing and fingering to page margins else contents clean. Pop-ups in excellent condition.

Boards scuffed and grubby. Joints cracked, rear joint starting to split at top. Front endpapers have cutouts of children glued down on them and some surface paper damage. Name in ink to belongs to box. Grubby marks to contents. Hinges pulled, binding a little worn but holding. 6 colour plates present.

Colouring, and pencil scribbles to some b/w illustrations. Hinges pulled, binding is worn but holding. Musty odour present.

Covers are worn with some creasing and some slight surface paper damage. Spine bumped and rubbed. Contents are well fingered with creases and some small tears. Tiny patch of surface paper damage to lower margin of frontis (doesn't actually affect the illustration). Overall a good reading copy of a scarce Wain book.

Dustwrapper is edge worn and grubby with damp staining to lower edges and some other marks, loss at edges.
