Shaw's Sunshine Series. Pictorial paper boards, yellow titles. Colour plates & b/w illustrations. Board edges rubbed and worn, boards unevenly faded at edges. Belongs completed in ink and dated 1935. Contents browned. Some foxing present. Hinges pulled but binding tight. Pictorial dustwrapper is edge-worn and torn with loss and faded to spine.

Spine and covers are edge worn. Rear cover is grubby. Prize plate to front pastedown (partially covering a Wain illustration). Tissue-guard to frontis torn with lower half missing. Inscription in pencil to top margin of title-page. Grubby fingermarks and foxing to text. One plate (opp page 272) has 1" closed tear.

Colour plates mounted on green paper, b/w illustrations throughout. First story is "The Golden Passports" by Lee. Covers are edge worn. Spine has been rebacked with red cloth. There is a section of surface paper missing to lower corner of rear cover. Inscription in ink to front free-endpaper. Name plate to verso of frontis. Tiny booksellers sticker to rear pastedown. Page corner tips are creased and there is some light fingering to page margins.

Title-page and contents page are detached but still present. Most of the b/w illustrations have some colouring to them.

Foxing to outer page edges and a few page margins. Wrapper is creased with a few large tears and chips; only a little loss to a couple of corners and top of spine.
