Red cloth spine with black title, pictorial front board. Colour and b/w illustrations. Spine and corners bumped and worn. Covers edge worn. Rear cover slightly grubby. Inscription in ink to front free-endpaper. Foxing throughout and some grubby fingermarks.
The Forces of Nature turned to the Service of Man. Some ordinary useful applications of the sciences explained in simple language for young people. Blue boards, pale blue titles. B/w illustrations. Boards marked, spine and title to spine faded. Endpapers and text block heavily browned. Rear pastedown has a sticky label stuck to it and pencil scribble. Rust spot to gutter edge of prelims.
Red pictorial cloth. Gilt title to spine. Colour frontis. 64 pages plus 12 page catalogue to rear. Spine and corners bumped. Cloth slightly dusty. Prize plate to front free-endpaper. Textblock is dusty. Some page corner creases and some some grubby marks to margins.
Green cloth spine, red boards with large pictorial onlay to front cover. Colour and b/w illustrations. Spine bumped, corners worn. Rubbing to cover edges and black mark to edge of rear cover. Prize plate to front pastedown. Light browning to title-page and last text page. Contents clean.

Brown cloth spine. Colour pictorial front board showing two children looking at the tits in the trees. Two colour plates plus b/w illustrations including one by Gordon Robinson. First poem is Flowers for Mummy by Jessie Pope. Spine and corners bumped. Corners very worn. Some surface paper damage to top of front cover. Mark to bottom of front board which also affects rear cover and bottom of last 6 pages. Rear board is grubby and marked.Couple of hinges pulled. Closed tear to side margin of one page. Prize presentation plate to verso of front endpaper. Some light fingering otherwise contents are generally clean.

Cloth spine, pictorial front cover shows two children feeding parrot on stand. Full page illustration to every page with title beneath, 12 colour plates, rest two-tone. 10.25 x 8". Spine bumped, worn and faded with nick to bottom edge. Wear to corner and cover edges. Covers grubby and marked with stains to rear cover. Top 2" of front joint cracked plus a couple of hinges cracked. Two pages are detached, one with ragged edges. 2" tear to title page alongside spine. Some light browning, foxing and marks to contents. All plates present, tear to bottom margin of frontis. Small bookseller's label to rear pastedown.

Spine bumped, rubbed and faded. Corners bumped and very worn. Boards are grubby. Inscription in ink in belongs to box some of which has transferred to opposite page. Paint marks to train on first page. Foxing to endpapers and page edges. Some light fingering. A few small margin tears.
Paper spine, pictorial front cover shows dog and cat riding a donkey. 12 colour plates plus full page b/w illustrations, all with 4 line rhyme to bottom of page. 10.5 x 8". Minimal bumping and wear to spine and corners. Just an odd mark to contents. All plates present.

Bumping and wear to spine and corners. Small patch surface paper damage to top corner of front cover. Spine grubby. Bottom of front joint just starting to crack. Light foxing otherwise contents clean.

Bottom of covers and spine heavily water stained, also visible on endpapers which have red colour transfer, text pages are slightly rippled but not stained. Covers are grubby and top edges are faded. Bumping and wear to spine and corners. Name and inscription to front endpaper. Belongs to box completed in prelims, pen line to title page. Some foxing to contents but otherwise generally clean.
