Covers slightly rubbed with a few small marks. Name in ink twice to front endpapers plus small bookseller's label. Front joint and quite a few hinges cracked. Page 15/16 partially detached. Contents generally clean. Endpapers browned. Some light foxing. All plates present, one partially detached.

The story of Philip, the Count of Monte Lucio, and the plan to depose him and set his twin brother, Hugo, in his place. Yellow cloth. B/w pictures. 255 pages. Spine and corners a little bumped. Covers are foxed. A little pen scribble to top of front endpaper. Endpapers a little browned. Top edge of textblock dusty. Dustwrapper is edge worn, creased and chipped with small area of loss to top of rear panel. Wrapper is grubby.

Light browning to top and tail of spine and top corners. Corners slightly bumped. Boards clean. Faint foxing to title page, light brown mark to last two pages. Contents clean. Wrapper is grubby on rear panel, is rubbed at edges and has some edge-tears with slight loss.

Biro has been used to outline some smaller illustrations. Biro drawing on reverse of one illustration which does affect a small part of text. Small hole to one colour plate. Some foxing and grubby margin marks.
