Board corners worn, Boards a little grubby. Belongs to box completed in pencil. Hinges pulled but binding tight. A few scattered foxspots. Some neat colouring e.g. b/w illustration opposite page 52.

Large split down rear side of spine; fraying of cloth. Small split to base of spine; other chipping to corners. Binding is a little weak. Inscriptions in ink to front endpaper. Some grubby margin marks.

B/w and two-tone illustrations throughout. First story is December's Guest. 21st issue of Father Tuck's annual. Spine and corners bumped; corners and board edges worn with some surface loss.

First poem is Flowers for Mummy by Jessie Pope. Spine and corners bumped. Corners very worn. Some surface paper damage to top of front cover. Mark to bottom of front board which also affects rear cover and bottom of last 6 pages. Rear board is grubby and marked.Couple of hinges pulled. Closed tear to side margin of one page. Prize presentation plate to verso of front endpaper. Some light fingering otherwise contents are generally clean.

Spine bumped, heavy wear to corners and some wear to cover edges. Front joint split for half its length. One hinge badly cracked. Name erased from front pastedown and belongs to box. All lower page corners bumped. Light browning to endpapers. Contents generally clean.

Contents are generally clean but with some light foxing.

Blue pictorial covers with pictorial only of a young girl. Orange and cream titles. 2 colour plates plus numerous b/w illustrations. Pictorial endpapers. Serial story is Thimblekin, Tom and the Showman. 148 pages. 8.25" x 6.5". Page 15 lists the winners of the 'Unfinished Story' competition. One of these was Ursula H. Bloom, Whitchurch, Stratford On Avon. Ursula went on to become a world famous authoress with more than 500 books to her name. Her first book 'Tiger' was written when she was seven and presumable living at Whitchurch where her father was rector. Spine and corners bumped. Spine a little browned. Endpapers a little browned. Some foxing to page edges. Browned patch measuring 3.5" x 2" to bottom of pages 108 / 109. Covers some of the text which is still legible.

Colour plates and b/w text illustrations (including one Wain cat plate accompanying a verse called "All Afloat" by Clifton Bingham. Reprint, no date. Minimal bumping and wear to spine, corners and cover edges. Contents lightly browned with some foxing and an odd mark. One hinge cracked.

An anthology of short stories. Large format. Cloth spine, pictorial front board showing boy and girl on a swing. 8 full-page colour illustrations, b/w text illustrations throughout. First story is "The Knight and the Dragon" (told in rhyme). Spine bumped, corners worn. Covers are slightly grubby with a few small ink spots to rear cover. Gold address label to top margin of front pastedown (which is also the frontis - but it is in the margin so picture not affected). Prize plate neatly inserted at inner margin of title-page. Grubby fingermarks and pale page browning to contents. Neat list of illustrator names written in pencil to verso of title-page.
