Cheap Edition. Small format. Blue cloth boards, gilt title to spine. Folding maps. B/w frontis. Spine lightly browned. Endpapers and text block browned. Front hinge pulled but binding tight. All maps present.
Cloth spine. Pictorial boards. 4 colour plates by Kennedy. B/w illustrations. Spine is bumped and browned. Grubby marks and scuffs to covers. Binding is weak and starting to break in places. Foxing to outer page edges and page margins. Small name and address label stuck to rear pastedown.
Blue cloth with black titles. Reading Practice - No. 3. B/w illustrations. Ex-lib. - cancelled stamp to front endpaper. Covers and contents are VERY grubby in places! A working copy only. Binding is starting to become a bit weak.
Green cloth, gilt title to spine. 7 colour plates. Black and white decorations to text. viii + 334 pages. Spine and corners bumped. Small mark to front cover. Front joint is partially cracked at base. 1 plate is MISSING from this copy. Some light foxing and fingering else contents clean. Dustwrapper is grubby and worn with creases, 2" loss to top of spine and rest of spine is browned. Price on front flap of dustwrapper is 7/6.

Damp stain to lower edge of rear cover and spine edge browned. Small brown stain to edge of front cover and "Miss Ruck" and "5" written in red biro to top of front cover. Name and address in ink to front pastedown, name and date in ink to free-endpaper. Endpapers browned. Some light foxing and grubby fingermarks to contents (including a few plate margins but pictures unaffected).
