Brick red cloth with gilt title to spine and vignette to front cover. Colour frontis + b/w illustrations. Spine and corners bumped. Small bump to edge of front board. Contents clean. Dustwrapper is edge worn with several tears which have been meded on verso with tape. Loss to top of rear panel which has been disguised by similar coloured paper beneath. Top of spine and small part of front fold have been strengthened with thick tape. Title on front panel has blue pen marks. Rear panel slightly grubby. Rear flap creased and a little foxed.
Green cloth, gilt title to spine, vignette to front cover. Colour frontis + b/w illustrations. A few marks/light scuffing to covers. Couple of corners are bumped. Grubby marks to endpapers and outer page edges.

Foxing to endpapers and outer page edges. Wrapper is price-cut with tears and chips; loss to top and tail of spine and edges. Wrapper is also heavily creased in places, with smaller pieces of loss.

Rosemary Langford was born in Singapore but was sent to school in England. Just before she was due to return to school in the Autumn of 1939 she had to spend three weeks in hospital in Singapore. War was declared and Rosemary's mother said she could go to finishing school in Switzerland when the war was over. The author's last book. Green boards, gilt title to spine. ISBN: 0863910580.
