Spine and corners bumped and worn, two small bumps to top edge of front cover. Very faint erased writing to front endpaper. Text pages clean. Foxing to text block. Price-cut dustwrapper is edge worn with a few small tears and chips, some small pieces of loss. Rear panel slightly grubby.

Endpapers and text block browned. A few top corner creases. Price-cut pictorial dustwrapper is faintly foxed to flaps, is worn at edges with loss, and scuffed to rear panel.

First story is A Surprise for the Piggledy Gnome. Spine and corners bumped and worn. Bump to front cover has bent board at top and damaged top and outside edge. Spine and front cover a bit grubby. A couple of hinges cracked but binding is firm. Contents generally clean. A little foxing. All plates present but two have darkened edges, one of these has ragged edges too.

Top of spine and small part of front fold have been strengthened with thick tape. Title on front panel has blue pen marks. Rear panel slightly grubby. Rear flap creased and a little foxed.
