One in the children's bookshelf series. 78 pages. Colour frontis by Aris. Retold by Lee. Some fading along cover edges. Ink stamp to front endpaper with transfer to front pastedown. Wrapper has corner cut from bottom of front flap; edge-creased with a few chips and nicks; faded to spine.

Covers are bumped and worn. Surface paper damage to front cover; with some loss, which has been 'coloured in'. Foxing and grubby margin marks. Lengthy inscription in ink to front endpaper.
