Contained in an original, extremely scarce dustwrapper which is slightly grubby/foxed, lightly faded to spine and has a very small tear to top edge of rear panel. This copy would make a wonderful gift.

Brown cloth, gilt title, brown decorations to spine and front cover. 549pp. Cr 4to. Some light bumping and wear to spine and corners. Presentation plate to front pastedown. Front joint next to half-title page is cracked. Some foxing. Creasing to tissue-guard of frontis. A few hinges are pulled - binding starting to become a little weak in a couple of places. Foxing to outer page edges. All plates present. Original wrapper is edge-creased, with some grubby marks; a couple of small pieces of loss to corners.
