Red cloth spine. Pictorial front board showing a party scene featuring a clown. Advert to rear board. Colour frontis plus 2 other colour plates and 2 picture stories with colour illustrations. B/w and two tone illustrations. 108 pages. First story is Monk's Clue. Spine bumped and browned. Cloth is frayed at edges and there is a small split on rear spine. Corners bumped and darkened. Board edges rubbed. Covers a little grubby. Some erased writing from front pastedown and endpaper. Rear joint beginning to crack. Name and address to belongs to box. Pages browned.

Six colour plates. Spine bumped and rubbed. Corners bumped and worn. Board edges scuffed. Covers grubby with some scratches to rear board. Inscription in ink to front endpaper. Both joints beginning to crack. Some hinges pulled. Pages browned. One plate detached, the bottom edge of which is grubby. One other plate is partially detached. Margins and verso of plates are marked.

A delightful Victorian book. Spine and corners bumped and worn. Covers are grubby and marked. Both joints cracked. Some damp damage to contents, two pages have been stuck together on bottom margin, now torn apart causing surface paper damage to last line of text and a few other pages have surface paper damage or tears to bottom edge. Large 5.5" tear to one illustration. Ink inscription to front endpaper. Numerous pencil marks to contents. mostly short lines to blank pages. Grubby marks to contents.

One b/w plate by Wain entitled 'The Cats Party.' Spine bumped, worn and faded. Corners bumped and worn. Cover edges darkened and covers a little marked. Front and rear joints badly cracked showing webbing beneath. Some hinges cracked. One plate is loose and has ragged edges. Foxing and browning especially to prelims. A few light marks otherwise contents generally clean.

And the man who reported it for us had the worst case of social inferiority in his generation, which gives this tract an odd slant. Brown leather spine, patterned boards. 43 numbered pages. Illustrated with wood engravings. Signed Limited Edition. ISBN: 0827171033. Wear to spine, most at base. An odd grubby mark to contents. Limited edition page has been signed by Illustrator but not numbered. Contained in original slipcase which is edge worn with a few marks. Surface paper damage to spine part of label.
