This set contains two volumes. The second volume is 'The Treasures' - full colour photographs of what was discovered! Black cloth, gilt titles to spines; decorations to front covers. Books are fine. The base of publisher's slipcase is lightly scuffed and there is slight wear to lower corner of opening.

Ladybird Series 413. Yellow pictorial paper boards. Spine and corners bumped and worn with slight loss to base of spine. Inscription in ink to verso of front free-endpaper and name in pencil to top margin of title-page. One hinge is crackced showing stitching beneath but binding is still tight. Dustwrapper is edge worn, torn and creased with some slight loss and grubby to rear panel.

Small format. Blue pictorial boards. Delightful colour illustrations of the little black boy and his Mammie. A very scarce edition, the only edition published by Watson. Wear to cover edges. Marks to front cover. Inscription in ink to front free-endpaper. Some light fingering to contents. Book leans to rear side a little. Dustwrapper is worn, grubby and creased, it has a tear to the the lower half of the front fold and has extensive tape repairs/reinforcements. Unfortunately the tape is now missing but has dried and browned with age staining the wrapper.
Small format. Green boards with red lettering. Pictorial onlay to front cover. 52 numbered pages. Colour illustrations. Spine and corners slightly bumped and worn. Front joint cracked. Some light foxing and grubby fingermarks at page margins.
Five little card wrap books contained in box shaped to look like a sweetshop with opening door at front. The books are generally very good with some foxing and light page browning. The front cover of book 1 has indentations to front cover (from heavy pencil marks?) and a small stain to top edge of rear cover. The box is worn, grubby and foxed on the inside with a tape reinforcement to the shop of the shaped section of the shop (on the verso).

Special Limited edition boxed set, (limited to 750 copies); issued to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the publication of The Tale of Peter Rabbit. This commemorative box contains facsimiles of the three stages in the publication of this title: the picture letter Beatrix Potter first wrote to Noel Moore in 1893, her own privately-printed volume of 1901 (the first printing), and the original deluxe edition published by Frederick Warne in 1902 (gold binding). A small stapled pamphlet on the history of publication is included, as is a gilt embossed tissue guard to protect the limited edition plate on the interior of the box. The box is dark blue cloth with a brass latch and has a gilt title to spine. A beautiful edition for the collector! ISBN: 0723240272. A super set still in the white card sleeve which has protected it (slight wear to the sleeve).
