Slightly better than very good condition.
Set in two slip-cases consists of: Silas Marner; The Mill on the Floss; Adam Bede; Romola; Felix Holt; Daniel Deronda; Middlemarch. Different colour cloths with b/w engravings by different illustrators. Top edge of text blocks is grubby/lightly browned at the opening ends (approx 2" maximum starting from outside edge). Spine of Middlemarch is faded, only noticeable when removed from the slipcase. Otherwise, a very nice set contained in two slipcases which are lightly scuffed.

Some hinges pulled/cracked but binding still nice and tight. Slight musty smell to contents. Dustwrapper is worn and torn with repairs on verso, section of loss to top corner of rear panel. Exceptionally scarce in dustwrapper.

Covers a little grubby. Book plate to front pastedown. Browning to front endpapers and some of the mounts for the plates. Inscription in ink to half title page. Some hinges are cracked. Some fingering. Creasing to a couple of plates. Top of book is bowed.

Contained in a very scarce, original glassine wrapper which is a little frayed at edges with a few small chips and slight loss. This copy would make a wonderful gift.
