Couple of light knocks along cover edges. White marks to top edge of rear cover. Inscription in ink to front pastedown. Foxing and marks to endpapers and outer page edges. Wrapper is price-cut with chipping and creasing to corners and top and tail of spine; magic tape repairs to verso - but a little loss. Red ink ticks and titles written to rear panel of wrapper. Stain to top edge of verso of rear panel.
Orange boards, black title to spine. B/w illustrations. 191 Pages. Bumping to spine. Inscription in ink, with white tippex fluid marks to front endpaper. Foxing and browning to outer page edges. Wrapper has top corner of front flap cut off; edge-creasing with a few chips and nicks; a few marks to rear panel.
Blue boards with gilt title to spine. 179 pages. ISBN: 0340041943. Couple of corners are bumped. Small stain to margin of front endpaper. Page edge browning, with some foxing. Wrapper is browned to spine with some edge-creasing; a few nicks along edges.

Dustwrapper is edge rubbed, lower corner neatly removed from front flap (this was not the price though as that is printed at the top corner). The dustwrapper is slightly later as the price is 12/- [60p].

There is light damp(?) staining to the lower half of the spine and front cover - not particularly noticeable. Heavy foxing, mainly at first few and last few pages and also textblock. Some grubby fingermarks to page margins and some page corner tips creased. Dustwrapper is edge worn and torn with loss to spine ends and corners (tape repairs on verso). Rear panel of wrapper is grubby.
