Pale blue boards with vignette of flying saucer. 6 colour plates. Spine has browning to top 1" and bottom 2". Foxing to outer page edges. Wrapper is creased and stained with tears and loss; to top and tail of spine and corners.

A tiny tear to edge of front fly-leaf. Minor foxing to textblock. Dustwrapper is price-cut to top of front flap, is edge rubbed with a couple of small tears and rear panel is slightly grubby. There is a small patch of surface paper damage to front panel of wrapper.

Front joint is cracked (between front free-endpaper and half-title). A few small foxspots else contents clean. Dustwrapper is grubby (especially to spine) and is edge-worn with small closed tears.

Blue cloth. Colour frontis. 8 b/w illustrations. Light bumping to spine and lower corners. A few small white marks to covers (damp?) mostly in spine area. Spine slightly faded. Ink inscription to front pastedown. Foxing, mainly to text block. Frontis has pink vertical line, (printing error?). Price-cut dustwrapper is edge worn and creased with some small pieces of loss from spine, ends of folds and top corner of front panel. Clear tape stuck to top of spine and in various places on verso to strengthen/repair. Spine browned, rear panel slightly grubby.
