Small brown marks affects margin and text block of first 50 pages. Painting contest page untouched.

Not published in facsimile form as some of the content was considered politically incorrect. Spine and corners bumped, 1cm loss to top and tail of spine. Covers otherwise bright and clean. Name in belongs to box. Price cut. Painting contest page completed but not removed. Cinema strip unused.
The second Rupert annual. Colour pictorial boards showing Rupert and chums on a bridge. 1st story Rupert and the Snow Machine. Red cloth spine, black lettering. 124 pages. 7.5x10". Red and black illustrations throughout. Spine bumped, heavy bump at base which has caused a small nick to the rear board. Minimal rubbing at edges. A few hinges cracked. Some foxing to contents. NOT inscribed. Contained in an original posting box which is worn and a label has been removed from one side of the box. The box has kept the covers of this annual beautifully bright and clean and at first glance it could be mistaken for a facsimile.

The very first Rupert annual and the first Rupert book to be illustrated by Alfred Bestall. Red cloth with illustration of Rupert sitting reading on front cover. Black, red and white illustrations. The first time Rupert appeared wearing his now famous red jumper. (Tourtel's Rupert was dressed in blue). 124 pages. First story is Rupert and the Wonderful Kite. Spine and corners bumped, some slight darkening of cloth at lower edges. Child's name in ink in belongs to box. Foxing to contents. Painting pages UNTOUCHED. Some light fingering but contents generally clean. Dustwrapper is edge chipped with loss to base of spine and slight loss to top of spine and corners, grubby and lightly foxed. Dustwrapper is not as bad as it sounds - an excellent copy in a scarce dustwrapper.
This is the first Rupert annual to be dated on the inside title page. Colour illustrated boards showing Rupert leap-frogging over Bill Badger. First story 'Rupert and the Water-Lily'. 107 pages. Boards nice and bright, spine very slightly faded. NOT price-cut. Name in belongs-to box. Child's writing in red ink to title page. A few grubby margin marks. Colouring contest part DONE.

Name in belongs to box. Text block browned. A few light finger marks to margins. Tiny closed tears to many lower margins (not affecting text and no loss). Gutter edge between page 94 and 95 is split at top (but binding is tight).

Split to rear edge of spine has been tape repaired with old tape now coming away. Endpapers partly browned. Writing in belongs to box has been erased leaving a white mark. Price NOT cut. Magic paintings done. One hinge is cracked. Contents are marked and there are red biro scribbles/doodles to a few pages.
