Small format. Reissue. Boards have strips and circules, with colour pictorial onlay to front cover. Colour plates and b/w illustrations. Top 1" of spine is MISSING; splits to base of spine. Browning also to spine. Inscription in ink to verso of frontis. Creasing to some pages. Grubby marks and foxspots etc. to contents.

One in the children's bookshelf series. 78 pages. Colour frontis by Aris. Retold by Lee. Some fading along cover edges. Ink stamp to front endpaper with transfer to front pastedown. Wrapper has corner cut from bottom of front flap; edge-creased with a few chips and nicks; faded to spine.

Card wraps. Circular pictorial onlay to front cover, showing a boy climbing over a stile. 4 colour plates. B/w illustrations. First story/rhyme is 'Compulsory Education'. Heavy creasing and foxing and wear to covers. Presentation plate is stuck to inside front cover. Grubby marks and foxing to pages.
Uncle Toby Tales. A charming story book for children, printed in clear, large type. Brown cloth spine, pictorial paper boards. Pictorial endpapers. B/w illustrations and colour plates. 32 pages. Undated. Board edges lightly rubbed, small dent to top front edge of board. Matching pictorial dustwrapper is edge-worn with a few closed tears and small chips, a little grubby.

Frontis has been re-inserted in wrong place. Foxing to page edges. Mark to rear endpaper.
