Beige cloth spine, pictorial front board showing school girl with tennis racket. Colour frontis, 4 b/w plates and numerous b/w text illustrations. 208 pages. 9.75 x 7.25". circa 1923(?). Spine, corners and cover edges bumped and worn. Covers grubby. Top 2" of front endpaper removed. TJ in circle in pen to half-title page. Foxing to contents but generally clean. All plates present, frontis is detached.

First story is 'The Socialist' by Mrs. J.D. Westwood. 208 pages. Spine bumped, worn and browned with a few marks. Corners and cover edges worn. Marks to covers. Small amount of crossed out writing to front endpaper. Grubby mark to top corner of half-title page. Rear joint and a couple of hinges cracked but binding is firm. Light foxing and a few marks to contents. All plates present.

A few small marks to front cover, spine darkened. Ink inscription to front endpaper. A little foxing, mainly to prelims and text block. All plates present, one has slight damage where it has been stuck to page opposite.

Joints and a few hinges cracked. Ink inscription to front pastedown. Small bookseller's stamp to front endpaper. Some foxing to contents but generally clean otherwise. 1 plate is MISSING.
