This legend of Dunkirk, first published during the grim days of 1941, has proved to be one of the minor classics of the war. Embellished by 4 magnificent full-colour plates plus dramatic b/w illustrations, this is a truly special edition. Royal blue cloth, with white titles amd b/w vignette to front cover. 55 pages. Light fading to top edge of spine and rear board. Neat name and date in ink to front endpaper. Couple of light rust marks to gutter of front endpaper. Contents otherwise clean. Price-cut pictorial dustwrapper is lightly chipped at corners, some scuffing to front panel, rear panel has a few closed tears and is lightly browned. Overall a lovely copy.

Green boards with red titles to spine. 240 pages. EX-LIB with remains of labels to front endpapers and library stamp to verso of title-page. Front joint between half title-page and title-page is cracked. Heavy foxing to textblock and some grubby marks to page margins. Spine and corners bumped, a few tiny dents to lower cover edges. Small faded patch to centre of spine. Dustwrapper is grubby to rear panel, foxed on verso and has a small hole to front spine edge.

Some very faint white spots to spine edges and a light tape(?) mark to rear cover and spine. Contents are clean. Dustwrapper is edge worn with a small patch of loss to base of spine, slightly grubby to spine and rear panel and some tears tape repaired on verso. Overall, a nice copy in a decent wrapper of this scarce Blyton first edition. This copy would make a wonderful gift.

Some light browning to textblock and some light marks to page margins. A couple of hinges slightly cracked. Dustwrapper is edge torn with magic tape repairs on verso, small peice torn and missing from top edge of front panel.
