Very good condition.
Rebound in three-quarter brown leather with brown cloth covers. 164 pages. 36 wood engravings hand-coloured. Spine and corners rubbed, split to top of spine. Name plate to front pastedown. Inscription in ink to front endpaper (also states "rebound 1888"). Some foxing and grubby fingermarks to page margins throughout. Front board completely separated from rest of book. A decent copy of this scarce antiquarian children's book.

Almost very good condition.
Comus is the pseudonym of R.M. Ballantyne. Red embossed cloth with gilt title and vignette to front. Eight colour plates. Contains music accompanied by the verse and a short story. Spine and corners worn. Damp stain to lower edge of front cover (4.5 x 1") affects the lower edges of the front endpapers and first 12 pages (including 3 plates - margins only, pictures not affected). Previous owner's name and address in ink to front endpaper. Some light foxing and fingering, a small closed tear and light creasing to front endpaper. Not as bad as it sounds, still a nice copy.
