A little bumping and wear to spine and corners. Name to top edge of front cover. A few small marks to covers. Contents are clean but there is foxing throughout.

Top page corners lightly creased from bumped corners. A few small marks to endpapers. Light foxing and a few fingermarks to contents. All plates present.

Spine and corners bumped. Covers are sunned, light scratch mark to rear cover. Inscription in ink to front endpaper. Endpapers browned, light foxing to textblock and heavier foxspots to prelims. Dustwrapper is edge worn and torn with damp stains to sides of spine, 2" loss to top of spine and a small patch of loss to centre of rear panel.

Publishers full brown calf binding with gilt decorations/titles. Top edge gilt, others untrimmed. Colour and b/w mounted plates plus b/w illustrations. Very slight rubbing to cover edges. There is foxing to the contents (which affects the b/w plates but not the colour ones) but otherwise this is a lovely, bright copy. This copy would make a wonderful gift.
