Spenser's Faerie Queene in three volumes. Edited by Thomas J. Wise. This facsimile was reproduced from a copy of the first edition by Dot Reproductions Ltd, printed by Memminger Mediencentrum A.G. on Corolla Classic watermarked laid paper and bound by Lachenmaier in full Nigerian goatskin leather blocked with a design based on Walter Crane's original. Limited edition of 1,000 numbered copies. B/w full-page and text illustrations. Top edges gilt. A very heavy set. This is copy 256 of 1,000. Contained in publisher's wooden slip-case covered in burgundy silk moire with a drawer (cloth starting to pull upwards - minor!) to pull the heavy books forward, a little dusty. A beautiful set with minor rubbing of burgundy ink to base of text block of two volumes (comes from the burgundy sliding drawer).

Marbled paper boards. Vertical and lower edge of text block untrimmed. xii and 356 pages. Modern binding is beautifully clean, bright and tight. New endpapers. Some minor foxing to the contents. Browning to text block and page edges. Overall a decent copy for a text of 240+ years old.

A beautiful copy with a couple of minor, almost invisible, marks to boards. Contents fine. The Divine Stenographer booklet is present and also in fine condition. Publisher's solander case is lovely and clean. This is copy 1487 of 1750.

Decorations to every page. Top edge gilt, others untrimmed. A beautifully illustrated book. SIGNED by the artist to limitation page, this is copy no. 301. Covers ever so slightly grubby at edges and very lightly browned to spine. Large crease to one plate and small corner crease to another. Contents are clean, perhaps the page edges are just a little dusty. This copy would make a wonderful gift.

Some professional paper repair especially to map of UK which is missing a good portion of the UK (see photo). Text block heavily browned, contents also heavily browned and with foxing, some damp staining to margins, some more so than others, text is legible. All plates present with browning and foxing. Overall a good copy for a book 200 years old.
