Green Boards with gilt title to spine. Full page b/w wood engraving illustrations plus chapter headers and footers. 149 pages. 8.5 x 5.5". Spine and corners bumped. Endpapers partly browned. A few foxspots to textblock. Price-cut wrapper is grubby and foxed, chipped to lower front corner with small tear to top front spine edge and name in ink to front panel.

With 40 French-fold leaves and illustrated with 31 wood engravings formerly used in Penguin books here printed on recto pages from the original block. Bound in gilt-titled quarter vellum over wood veneer boards. Spine browned and cover edges also a little browned. Name and address ink stamp to front free-endpaper. Light page edge browning else contents clean.
Red cloth, white title label to front cover. Beautiful b/w wood engravings, subjects of which are familliar to the New Zealand mind. Front free-endpaper has been removed. Some light browning to the tissue-paper 'separators'. Spine and corners bumped. Dustwrapper is edge chipped and slightly creased.

Chipped to top of spine with slight loss.
