'The object in publishing this Volume is to contribute the Profits towards the projected erection of an Infirmary, on a small scale, at Seaham Harbour, in the County of Durham.' Pink cloth boards with gilt title to front and embossed decoration to front and rear. Plain yellow endpapers. A few b/w plates. Lengthy subscribers list (31 pages). Spine browned, boards very grubby, corners bent. Name in ink to front endpaper. Joints just starting to split. Page browning, some foxing, one page has vertical edge crease. Small damp stain to prelims at lower gutter edges. A scarce item.
Sir Hugh Cason, the architect son of a former Indian Civil Servant, is a compulsive travel diarist. In this sketchbook he uses his personal shorthand of writing and drawing to record his impressions of a trip to India. Very small format. Yellow cardwraps. Book opens concertina style. B/w sketches. Front cover and spine a little faded. Covers lightly creased at edges and rubbed at corners. Contents clean.
Red cloth with gilt title to spine, blind decorations to both spine and front cover. Peeps at Many Lands. 32 full page colour illustrations. New edition. Spine and covers are a bit browned with some grubby marks. Some foxing and browning throughout. Some hinges pulled but binding tight.
