In 1915, journalist Emily Post set out from New York to investigate whether is was possible to drive comfortably across the country to San Francisco in an automobile. This is a reprint of Post's only travel book, originally published in 1916. This annotated edition includes a biographical sketch of Post. Pictorial cardwraps. B/w photos. ISBN: 0786419407. Glued binding at half-title is drying out and thus split at lower half - front joint fragile but binding still tight elsewhere.

Remains of bookplate to front pastedown. Front endpaper is nearly detached, browned and torn. Page edges are browned. All plates present.
