SIGNED by author to title page. Bumping to top corners of covers, which has gone through to page corners. Wrapper is edge-creased with a few small nicks and chips.

A book of sporting verse. Red cloth, gilt titles and fox vignette. 4 colour plates and 25 monochrome illustrations. Cover edges are unevenly faded. Foxing to endpapers and outer page edges. Wrapper has been 'repaired' with some white pieces added for strength. Marks and browning/fading; some pieces of loss.

Some of Aldin's best work went into this, one of his favourite books. Two volumes. Red cloth, gilt titles and vignette. 12 colour plates in each volume plus numerous text illustrations. Top edges gilt. Both volumes dampstained, a little marked, and faded to spine. Corners bumped. Tissue-guard between frontis and title page missing to volume II. Hinges pulled. Minor foxing to text block. A few grubby marks and minor foxing to contents. All plates present.

Cloth spine, oblong format. Glorious, humorous colour pictures. Spine and corners bumped and slightly worn. Some light scuffing to covers. Light browning to endpapers, some light fingering to page margins. There is a strong smell to the contents of the book (not sure what it is). Overall this is a very nice copy of a very politically-incorrect book! This copy would make a wonderful gift.
