Bottom 2" of frontis cut off. Small closed tears to frontis mended on verso with clear tape. Two pages at end of book detached. Some pages creased. A few foxspots. Edge of text block is grubby.

Spine and corners slightly bumped and rubbed. Names (to and from) in ink in belongs to box. Pale page browning and some grubby fingermarks to margins. Dustwrapper is slightly edge worn with tears at corners, slight loss to lower front corner and a small ink blot to top of front flap.

Gold address label to top margin of front pastedown (which is also the frontis - but it is in the margin so picture not affected). Prize plate neatly inserted at inner margin of title-page. Grubby fingermarks and pale page browning to contents. Neat list of illustrator names written in pencil to verso of title-page.
