The Folio Poets series. Edited and introduced by Nicholas Roe. Bound on St. Paul's wove paper with quarter leather spine and patterned cloth sides. B/w engravings. Top edge dark brown. xix and 495 pages. Third printing. Headbands starting to detach from inner spine (common fault), slight discolouration to text block (not affecting margins). Else a lovely copy contained in publisher's slipcase which is lightly scuffed.

Fourth Edition. Title to spine is 'Paley's Gothic Moldings'. Directions for copying them and for determining their dates. Upwards of six hundred examples. B/w illustrations to text. 94 pages plus 21 plates to rear and 2 pages of publisher adverts. Boards lightly unevenly faded and have a few minor marks. Top & tail of spine shelf-worn. Text block browned. 'S.' in pen to front pastedown. Front joint publled between front endpaper and half-title page but binding tight. Half-title page browned and has a contemporary ink name & date to top ege.

Light browning to top edge of text block. Else contents clean. Blue dustwrapper is rubbed at edges, grubby to rear panel and has a maroon coloured mark to verso facing front board.

Pale foxing to endpapers and outer page edges. Wrapper is a bit edge-creased with a faded spine. Odd foxspot. Also includes letter SIGNED by author to a previous owner, which has become creased to edges.

Plain light grey dustwrapper is slightly grubby, lightly creased across top edge, and browned to spine.

Many b/w illustrations throughout. viii and 320 pages. Spine faded and worn at top & tail. Rear board a little marked. Text block browned & foxed. Bookplate to front endpaper. Joints starting to crack but binding is tight. Foxing present, mainly to tissue guards, a few spots to contents. Hinge between page 152 and 153 pulled wide to lower half but tight.
