Very large format (14 x 8.25"). Pictorial boards, green spine. Delightful colour illustrations with text in script. Printed on one side of pages only. Text later changed as this story of a little girl who was befriended by an old gentleman is now considered to be "politically incorrect". Ardizzone's second book. Page edge browning, with a few foxspots to outer page edges. Wrapper is edge-creased with some tears and chips to cover edges; small loss along top edge of rear panel.
