Some of the rhymes that delighted children in the reign of George III. Dark blue cloth, gilt title and vignette to front cover. B/w illustrations. Ex-Library with ink stamp, tape and labels removed from front endpapers, writing to publisher's page, rest of contents unmarked. Some light foxing, mainly to text block. Dustwrapper has fading to spine and panels alongside, also small tear to front panel.

Cloth spine with pictorial onlay of girl in yellow dress, pictorial front cover shows two girls, one playing a whistle(?). 6 colour plates and b/w illustrations. 168 pages. First story is 'The Sea-Eagle' Nest' by Francklyn. Spine browned, bumped and worn with a little loss from top edge of onlay. Wear to corners and cover edges. Uneven fading and a few marks to covers. A couple of hinges cracked. A little foxing, mainly to text block. One plate partially detached.

Small bookseller's label to front pastedown. Light page edge browning to contents. Dustwrapper is edge worn with a few tears and chips, slight loss from top of spine. Rear panel grubby.
