Beige cloth, green title to spine and vignettes to front cover. 188 pages. B/w frontis and text illustrations. Spine and corners bumped, tiny dent to lower edge of rear cover. Inscription in ink and name and date in ink to front free-endpaper (which has had the very top corner tip neatly removed). Contents clean. Dustwrapper is edge worn with slight chipping and tears. Small hole to spine.

Small patch of surface paper damage to top edge of front cover, slight damp staining to front cover. Frontis is MISSING from this copy. There are some small red ink stamps (can't read what they say) scattered to the first few pages. The contents are very browned but otherwise clean.

Covers a bit grubby. Front free-endpaper has been removed, causing slight damage to inner margin of pastedown. Small brown spots affect pages 41 to 48. Some hinges cracked but binding still tight.
