Red pictorial cloth with gilt title labels. B/w illustrations throughout. 528 pages plus index to Vol 1. Spine and corners bumped and worn. Covers a bit grubby and marked. Inscription in ink to front free-endpaper. Foxing to textblock, some light fingermarks to page margins and some corner tips creased.
A Tale of the Antarctic Ocean. Blue pictorial cloth. Colour frontis and 3 b/w plates. 288 pages. All plates present. Spine bumped. Corners slightly rubbed. A few marks to covers. Endpapers lightly browned, front endpaper slightly grubby. Foxing to half-title page. Contents clean.
Contains issues from October 5th 1889 - September 27th 1890. Large format. Red cloth with gilt titles and decorations. 11 colour or b/w plates including title page. Front cover and spine very stained and marked (damp?). Some bumping and wear to spine and corners. Small dark mark to rear cover. Joints cracked. Some pages are loose but none seem to be totally detached. Some foxing and an odd mark but most pages are clean.
