Volume 1 of The Barsac Mission. Translated from the French by I.O.Evans. Brown boards, gilt title to spine. 192 pages. Ex-lib. with usual markings; also rear panel of wrapper is stuck to book. Foxing and heavy page browning. A reading copy.

Pictorial endpapers - Before and After the Battle. 14 colour plates plus b/w illustrations including some by Louis Wain. Corners bumped and a little rubbed. Spine browned and frayed at top and bottom. Covers a little faded in places. Cloth on front edge of spine rubbed in places. Endpapers a little foxed. One plate is MISSING. Creasing to a couple of plates. One tissue guard is detached. Some browning to pages but contents generally clean.
Blue pictorial cloth, gilt title to front, yellow title to spine. 24 b/w plates. Translated from the french by Frederick Lawton. 292 pages. Spine is a bit browned. Bumping and wear to spine and corners. Front joint is a bit cracked. Partially removed presentation plate to front pastedown - some surface paper damage now. Some foxing and browning.
