A record of the authors times of his first six months in France, in the Valley of the Somme during World War I. Red pictorial cloth. Humourous b/w plates. Reprint in same year of first publication. Spine browned, boards grubby. Spine cocked. Name & inscription in ink to front endpaper. Foxing throughout and a few grubby marks to contents. Hinges pulled.
