Green/grey cloth spine, pictorial paper boards show the red puppy with white bow and red title to front. 12 colour plates. The adventures of a cheeky puppy! Boards edge-rubbed and worn at corners, a few marks. Front joint cracked but binding holding. Crossed out inscription in ink to free front endpaper. Light foxing and light marks to contents, illustrations bright.

Some of Aldin's best work went into this, one of his favourite books. Two volumes. Red cloth, gilt titles and vignette. 12 colour plates in each volume plus numerous text illustrations. Top edges gilt. Both volumes dampstained, a little marked, and faded to spine. Corners bumped. Tissue-guard between frontis and title page missing to volume II. Hinges pulled. Minor foxing to text block. A few grubby marks and minor foxing to contents. All plates present.
