Short biographies of more than 50 of the artists whose talents helped to create the Golden Age. Large format, green boards, gilt title to spine. Colour plates and b/w text illustrations throughout. ISBN: 1854790412. Spine and corners are bumped and rubbed. Pale page edge browning. Dustwrapper is slightly edge rubbed with a small nick to top of spine.
White pictorial boards with gilt title to front. Pretty colour pictures accompany verse for children. Browning, foxing and marks to covers; some surface paper rubbing/lifting. Inscription in ink to front endpaper. Foxing to endpapers and outer page edges. Margin marks to pages.
Cream boards with large colour picture to front cover. Full page colour illustrations; all pages printed on only one side. Bumping and wear to spine and corners. Some grubby marks and spotting to covers. Damp mark along top edge of rear cover. Light foxing and some margin marks internally.
Cream pictorial boards. Pretty colour pictures accompany children's verse. Wear to cover edges. Covers are a bit grubby and darkened. Rear cover has a few spots and grubby marks. Inscription in ink to front endpaper. Some foxing.
Blue cloth, gilt titles and vignette. 12 colour plates plus b/w illustrations. 125 pages. Top edge gilt. Boards a little marked but gilt to front still bright. Cloth backstrip has been re-glued directly to spine, loss to top & tail, touched up with blue ink to sides. Rear hinge pulled. A few marks to contents. A few scattered foxspots. One plate has a corner crease.

Small areas of backstrip missing at top and bottom. Corners bumped. Wear to top of rear cover. Light blue ink marks to front cover. Light pencil mark to rear cover. Covers are browned and grubby. Endpapers foxed. One hinges badly cracked and a couple of others are pulled. Small tears to top of a couple of pages. Pencil marks to margin of one illustration. Grubby margin marks.
Blue cloth, gilt titles and vignette. 12 colour plates plus b/w illustrations. 125 pages. Top edge gilt. Spine and corners bumped and worn. Spine browned with a few white marks. A few marks to covers. Front joint cracked. Pen inscription to verso of front endpaper and school plate to front pastedown. 4" tear to page 115/6 and tear to top edge of 117/8, both repaired with clear tape which is now yellowed. Endpapers browned. Some foxing to text block and page edges.

Contains stories and rhymes. Spine bumped, faded and worn with small tear to top edge. Wear to corners and cover edges. Rear cover scuffed, a few small marks to front cover. Belongs to box completed in ink, dated 1935. Previous owner's small label to front pastedown, tape residue to top edge of title page. One hinge cracked. Foxing, mainly to endpapers, prelims and page edges. Contents generally clean.

Board pages, 10 illustrations internally including inside covers with two lines of text below each, 4 are by Sowerby. Pages bound with strips of tape. Wear to corners and cover edges. Covers a little grubby. Name and price in pencil to top margin on inside of front cover. Grubby marks to margins. Illustrations still bright.
Blue cloth, gilt titles and vignette. 12 colour plates plus b/w illustrations. 125 pages. Top edge gilt. Spine bumped and browned. Cloth split at top. Corners bumped and worn. Top of boards browned. Inscription in ink to prelim. Endpapers browned. Stitching to top of one gathering of pages undone. Some foxing and light fingering otherwise contents generally clean.
