Almost very good condition.
Large format. Green cloth, gilt titles and gilt shepherd vignette to front cover. 16 tipped-in colour plates by Rawlings. Numerous b/w illustrations by Thomson. Top edge gilt. Covers are unevenly browned. A few chips and nicks at cloth; with a little fraying in places. Plate to opposite page 27 is MISSING (mounting card and tissue-guard are still present, but plate no longer there). Some foxing and page browning.

Spine bumped and rubbed. Corners bumped and worn. Board edges rubbed. Couple of marks to rear board. Front and rear joint starting to crack. A few hinges pulled. Heavy foxing to prelims and last few pages. Foxing throughout book including verso of plates. One plate has a small nick to one edge.
