Four volumes in two. Three-quarter dark green leather binding. Gilt titles and decorations to spines. B/w illustrations. The Sea, its Stirring Story of Adventure, Peril & Heroism. A few small marks/spotting to covers. Brown mark to rear cover of one volume. Foxing and browning to outer page edges and some page margins. Corner creasing to a few pages. Leather to spine and corners is still lovely and bright.
2 volumes. Brown leather covers, gilt borders. B/w plates. Includes sections on dogs, plus fox and stag hunting, hare coursing. Rabbit, martin, badger and otter hunting. Angling, game shooting and waterfowl etc. Both volumes have been rebacked with new spines with raised bands; new endpapers, original boards and pages. Volume 1 No longer has its title page. All plates present. Volume 1 was published in 1801 and Volume 2 in 1802. Scuffing and wear to covers; heavy wear to corners. Foxing, browning and some margin marks.

This facsimile edition has been reproduced from the manuscript Egeron MS 747 in The British Library through digital photography by Laurence Pordes, and printed at The Bath Press, Glasgow, on Phoneix Motion Xenon paper.This edition of 1000 copies has been bound for the members of The Folio Society by Smith Settle of Otley in full goatskin leather, with leather onlayhs, over bevelled boards, blocked with a design by David Eccles, with handmade laid-paper endleaves from the Fabriano mill. Contained in a green cloth box, with smaller separate 'Commentary' book. This is Copy No. 45. Only blemish is a small circle of surface paper lifting to copy number page and opposite page. Commentary book is also in fine condition in a near fine box, which has small bump and light mark.

Contained in a green cloth box with red title block to spine. Also contained with this edition is 'A Commentary' - in green cloth, with gilt titles to spine. This is Copy No. 35. Slip case is fine. A stunning version. This copy would make a wonderful gift.

A descriptive account of the various regiments now comprising the Queen's forces, from their first establishment to the present time (vols I & II) and In India and the Colonies (vol III). Large format. Three-quarter leather binding, volumes 1 & 2 black leather with grey cloth sides, volume 3 burgundy leather with blue cloth sides. Gilt title to spines. Each volume has colour vignette to title page with tissue guard in place. Beautiful colour plates. Volume I has a cup ring stain on front side, is rubbed at corners. Front hinge between contents and list of illustrations is broken. Tissue guard is present, is creased with a few foxspots and a few small tears to gutter edge. Volume II is rubbed at corners. Tissue guard present but browned and worn at gutter edge. Prelims are detached (title page to vi of contents due to broken hinge. Between pages 262-263 a page containing three b/w photos of men in uniform has been expertly inserted. Hinge between page 264 and 265 broken. Volume III is rubbed at corners with slight loss of leather to base of spine. Tissue guard is missing between frontis and title page. Front section detached from title page to page vi of contents, cracked joint between title page and frontis. Pages 3-6 not bound in (but present). All plates are present throughout the set and in excellent condition. A few foxspots thoughout. A few cracked/pulled hinges. Some pencil annotation present to margins (comparatively little).
Green leather with gilt title and vignette to spine, gilt vingettes to covers. This is the publisher's Deluxe binding edition. B/w illustrations. Spine is very browned with wear and scuffs. Bumping to corners. Name indentation and marks to top of front cover. Other marks to covers. Foxing to outer page edges and a few to page margins, else contents are still very good.
2nd edition. Red leather spine and corners; raised bands to spine and gilt decorations and gilt title to dark title block. Marbled boards and endpapers. Spine has faded. Foxing to endpapers and outer page edges; a few to some page margins internally.
