B/w plates and text illustrations. 158 pages for each volume. Spine bumped, worn and browned with two small splits to top edge. A little bumping and wear to corners. Covers grubby, small dark mark to front cover. Front joint badly cracked between title page and frontis, webbing showing. Hinges cracked causing binding to feel a little loose. Browning to endpapers and page edges. Foxing, mainly to endpapers.

Yellowed tape residue down full length of front joint. A couple of hinges starting to crack but binding is firm. Label with ink inscription to verso of frontis. Some light fingering and foxing to contents but generally they are clean.
