Inscriptions in ink to front endpaper. Page edge browning; some light foxing. Contents are still very good. Wrapper has bottom 2-3" of rear panel and base of spine torn off and MISSING; other corners of loss; front panel is mostly complete.

This is the fourth book in the popular 'St. Clare's' series. Orange cloth with dark blue titles and vignette to front cover. B/w illustrations. 157pages. Foxing to endpapers and outer page edges; some to page margins. Wrapper has 2" loss to base of spine; other tears and chips; smaller nicks of loss along edges. Some foxing also to wrapper.
Three children, home for the holidays find a mysterious boy living next-door. Red cloth, black titles. Black and white illustrations. 184 pages. Bumping to spine and a couple of corners. Name and address in ink to front endpaper. Rear joint is cracked to top 2.5". Foxing to endpapers and outer page edges. Wrapper is creased with edge-tears and chips; some loss; faded to spine.
