52 stories chosen by a little girl of 10. Yellow cloth with blue titles and vignettes. 7 colour plates, 100 b/w illustrations. 491 pages. Spine and corners bumped. Covers grubby and marked with a slightly browned spine. Some light foxspots to endpapers and textblock else contents clean.
New Impression. Red cloth, gilt title and vignette to spine, stamped vignette to front cover. 419 pages. B/w illustrations. Spine is faded, with bumping. Marks and spots to covers. Wear to corners. Inscriptions in ink to front pastedown and front endpaper. Foxing and grubby marks to endpapers and outer page edges. Some margin marks.

Pale blue cloth, gilt titles; blue decoration to front cover. B/w illustrations. Gilt to spine is faded, spine is also browned; some chips to cloth at top and tail; a little fraying. Bumping and wear to corners. Browning to cover edges. Some foxing. A few pages have small chips/nicks to margins.
Dark blue cloth with gilt titles and decoration to spine. Gilt title to front cover. Grey pictorial endpapers. 288 pages, all edges gilt. B/w illustrations. Heavy bumping to couple of edges of covers and corners. Splitting to cloth to sides of spine; appears to have been partially reglued at some point. Marks to covers. Joints are cracked. Endpapers are creased with some small nicks etc. Foxing. Margin marks; damp stain to edge of some pages.
A Tale of Fairy Land. Superb colour illustrations of fairies by Richard Doyle as well as sepia drawings. These pictures were originally published in 1869 and Lang admired them so much that he wrote this story to fit around the illustrations. Burgundy cloth spine, brown pictorial boards. B/w illustrated endpapers. Printed in colour by Edmund Evans. 56 pages. Binding is weak, hinges are cracked; front hinge is partially broken. Scuffing and other marks to covers; some chipping and loss at edges of covers. Staples rusted. front endpaper is partially stuck next to spine to front pastedown. Some foxing and page markings. Illustrations are still lovely and bright.
Red cloth, gilt titles to spine and illustration to front cover. Black endpapers. Numerous b/w illustrations. 419 pages. All edges gilt. Spine bumped, browned and a little worn at top. Corners are bumped. Covers slightly grubby. Small booksellers sticker to rear pastedown. Foxing and some fingering throughout.

Water/damp mark to edge of front cover which also affects first few pages. Name and address in blue felt pen to half title page. Foxing and light marks to text block. Just a very odd mark to contents. Price-cut dustwrapper is edge worn and chipped with a faded spine. Clear tape stuck to verso of front fold to strengthen damage. Small ink stamp to front fold, blue felt pen squiggle to rear fold. Rear panel slightly grubby.

Browning throughout and a little foxing. All plates present.

The story of a young prince whose mother didn't believe in fairies and would n't invite them to the christening. They came anyway and one of their gifts was the quality of being too clever which led to the prince being unpopular.Orange cloth boards with blue title to spine and vignette to front board. Foxing mainly to endpapers and page edges otherwise contents are clean. Dustwrapper is edge worn and creased. Loss to top and bottom of spine with a few closed tears. Some sellotape to verso of wrapper to repair some of the tears.
