Edited and introduced by Lyn MacDonald. Green pictorial cloth. B/w photos. Printed on pale green paper. Front joint between endpaper and half title-page is cracked. Light rubbing to corners. Contained in original publishers slipcase which is faded at edges and scuffed with a few grubby marks.

Top & tail of spine and corners lightly rubbed. Front joint starting to crack but binding still firm. Text block browned. Small ink mark to front pastedown. Some light corner creasing. One folding map has a 2" closed tear (no loss). Contents generally clean for a book over 150 years old.

One page is part detached but is still present and hanging on by a 'thread'. There is foxing. Binders sticker to rear pastedown (H. Walker of Hyson Green).
