A delightful Victorian book. Spine and corners bumped and worn. Covers are grubby and marked. Both joints cracked. Some damp damage to contents, two pages have been stuck together on bottom margin, now torn apart causing surface paper damage to last line of text and a few other pages have surface paper damage or tears to bottom edge. Large 5.5" tear to one illustration. Ink inscription to front endpaper. Numerous pencil marks to contents. mostly short lines to blank pages. Grubby marks to contents.

Front joint (between frontis and title-page) is cracked and a couple of hinges are cracked, this causes the binding to be a little loose but still tightly bound. Title-page is slightly finger-creased with a tiny tear to lower margin. Contents are generally clean.
