Yellow boards with small gilt vignette of teddy and title in gilt to spine. Colour illustrations throughout. ISBN: 0719534291. Damp marks and musty smell to book - especially to covers. Contents are still very good. Wrapper is creased with damp marking to verso; bottom corner of front flap has been cut off.

Surface paper damage and a small closed tear to rear endpaper. Wrapper is browned to spine and rear with surface damage to rear flap and nicks at corners with very slight loss.

A highly unusual rendering of 33 Old Testament stories by the author, who has fused the individual stories into an account of the development of the scattered Tribes of Israel, who were to build the Temple in Jerusalem; suffer a decline, culminating in the destruction of the City of Gold. Each story is re-told with vigor from a different contemporary perspective, as would have been the case in the earliest oral traditions before these stories were written down. A Carnegie Medal winner. ISBN: 0575028831. Minor foxing to top edge of text block and endpapers. Pictorial dustwrapper is lightly edge-worn.

Brown mark to edge of Moses title page. Water stain to outside edge of both sets of endpapers. Some browning to contents but is mostly from colour illustration opposite.

Some hinges cracked. A few light margin marks otherwise contents clean. Dustwrapper is edge worn with some tears and slight loss to top and bottom of spine. Edges of wrapper are creased. Wrapper is a little grubby.
