This is the fourth book in the popular 'St. Clare's' series. Orange cloth with dark blue titles and vignette to front cover. B/w illustrations. 157pages. Spine and corners slightly bumped. Endpapers browned. Contents clean. Dustwrapper is worn to spine and corners and slightly grubby.
Large format. Humourous b/w cartoons in typical Punch style. Spine is split all way down centre; some chipping. Corners are bumped. Damp stained to rear cover and rear panel of wrapper. Some foxing, although contents are still in generally good condition. Wrapper is grubby and torn and chipped, with some loss. A reading copy only!
Small format. Brown boards with full-page colour pictorial onlay to front. Some b/w diagrams and illustrations. 56 pages includes index. Corners bumped and slightly worn. Covers rubbed at edges. Contents lightly browned else clean. Small address label to rear pastedown.
A book of short stories by the children's favourite writer. Small format. Green cloth, dark titles. 185 pages. B/w illustrations. Bumping to spine and corners. Inscription in ink to front endpaper. Heavy foxing and browning to outer page edges and some page margins. Wrapper is grubby with tears and chips - loss to top and tail of spine.
Large format. Pictorial cardwrap calendar, which is bound together with blue cord through punched holes at top. One and two colour illustrations, with a verse for each month of the year. A few grubby brown marks to covers and a few light marks internally. Couple of months have markings to them, where calendar was used in 1930! 'April' has tear to one hole at top - so now only attached by the one hole. A scarce item!
Red cloth with gilt titles and decoration/vignette to front. 7 x 4.5". Poetry for children. Spine and corners bumped. Covers damp stained. Grubby fingermarks and light page browning to endpapers. Dustwrapper is edge worn with slight chipping and rear panel is slightly grubby.
Green cloth, gilt title and decoration to spine, embossed title to front cover. Sketches that have previously appeared in 'Punch'. Publication lists to rear of book dated Autumn 1912 and July 1912. Spine bumped. Foxspots, mainly at textblock.
