Maroon cloth with gilt title to spine. B/w map. Ex-lib. with many usual markings; e.g. to spine, front pastedown, rear endpaper has remains of labels. Tears and chips, with splits and loss to top and tail of spine. Front joint is cracked. Rear joint has been repaired with white cloth tape. A reading copy.
Selected from Five Centuries of English Verse with pictures by members of the society of illustrators. Large format. Vellum boards, gilt titles. B/w illustrations. All edges gilt. Boards heavily scuffed and marked, 1" split to base of spine and also to middle of front edge of spine. Endpapers browned. Scattered foxspots. Pages 83 -86 detached from binding (center of a section). Some hinges pulled.
Third Edition. Complete in one volume. Three-quarter leather binding with raised bands and gilt title to spine, blue cloth boards. Blue marbled endpapers. Top edge gilt. Numerous b/w illustrations. Leather spine is amateurishly repaired at front and rear edge with cloth which is peeling off the front side. Corners lightly rubbed. Rear joint pulled apart but binding tight. Heavy foxing to prelims and last few pages and a few scattered foxspots to contents.
Blue cloth with dark blue title to spine and decorations to front cover. Gilt title to front. B/w illustrations. Spine and corners bumped and worn. Spine and cover edges browned. Front free-endpaper is missing. Foxing and grubby fingermarks to contents.
