Re-issued. Green pictorial cloth with gilt titles. The illustrations are based on original b/w drawings by Detmold, recreated in colour by Eccles. Some very light browning to spine. Very minor scuffing to slipcase.

Two volumes in red cloth and cream titles with black and cream illustrations on front covers. The Jungle Book contains colour plates by Detmold and Just So Stories b/w text illustrations by the author. An attractive set. This edition has new binding (originally first published by Folio Society in 1991/1992). Small erased pencil mark to half-title of Jungle Book (and other small pencil marks) and top rear corner of same volume is bumped. Some light marks to slipcase and a bump to one corner (matching Jungle Book).
A reproduction of the original edition first published in 1909. Dark red boards, elaborate gilt design and title to front and spine. Red endpapers. 23 spectacular colour plates. B/w text illus. 152 pages. ISBN: 0340267666. Spine slightly bumped and faded. Inscription in ink to front free-endpaper. Original clear film wrapper is torn and creased at rear corners, small tear to lower front corner.
Retold from Alexander Teixeira de Mattos' Translation of Fabre's "Souvenirs Entomologiques" by Mrs. R.Stawell. Cream cloth boards, gilt titles and decorations. Embossed vignette of dragonfly to rear board. 12 colour plates. vii and 184 pages. Covers slightly grubby and a little scuffed. Text block browned. Contemporary gift inscription in ink to free front endpaper has bled through to imprint on half-title page. Foxing to endpapers. Half-title page and last page heavily browned. A few margin marks. All plates present. Plate opposite page 64 (Psyche) has a closed tear to the mount which has been expertly repaired.

Spine and corners bumped and slightly rubbed. A few small marks and some slight scuffing to covers. Some foxspots to contents, mainly at page edges.

Spotting/browning to spine; some chipping to cloth at top and tail; a little fraying. Wear along cover edges; a few small nicks at corners. Some foxing and browning, mostly to prelims. All plates present. Bottom corner of page 144 has small piece torn off.
20 exquisite mounted colour plates of flowers. Large format. Cream cloth, gilt title and decoration to spine, gilt vignette to front cover. Bumping to corners and spine. Some grubby marks to covers. Some foxing and browning throughout, although plates are in excellent condition, lovely and bright and clean! All plates present.
Large format. Beige cloth spine with brown title. Cream paper boards with circular pictorial onlay of a small chick. 19 mounted colour plates of baby birds. 120 pages. Covers are very worn, picture on onlay is completely worn away. Spine has been rebacked and there are new endpapers. Covers grubby with some browning. Ink inscription to half-title page. A few marks and a little foxing to contents but many pages are clean. All plates are present, pages on which warbler and yellow hammer plates are mounted have been reinserted, edges are grubby. Crease to frontis page but not to plate.

Bumping and wear to spine and corners. Some faint white spotting to spine and some of gilt dulled. Name and date in ink to prelims. A couple of erased words to contents page. Browning to endpapers. Some foxing, mainly to text block and endpapers but does affect some of plates. All plates are present. Dustwrapper is edge worn with some loss, mainly from ends of spine areas. A few tape repairs to edge tears on verso. Slightly grubby with some browning and foxing.
Readable & informative. Selected and arranged by Alfred Sutro and Herschel Williams. Blue cloth with gilt titles and colour pictorial onlay. 8.5 x 5.5". 5 colour plates. 192 pages. Spine bumped, worn and browned. A little bumping and wear to corners. Covers a bit grubby. One hinge starting to crack and joint cracked by frontis. Ink inscription to front endpaper. Browning to endpapers. Foxing to contents but clean otherwise. All plates present.
