Green cloth, gilt title to spine. 61 colour photographs, 39 b/w photographs, 19 text figures and 43 distribution maps. Faint tape mark to top edge of rear board. Text block browned with light foxing. Previous owner's personalised bookplate to front endpaper. Date of 'May 1951' written in ink to front endpaper. Browning and tape marks to endpapers else contents clean. Pictorial dustwrapper is browned to spine with small circular loss to middle, rear panel browned and a little grubby, top & tail of spine lightly creased.
