Spine slightly faded, small split in cloth to head of spine at either side. Name & date in ink to front pastedown. Endpapers browned. A few scattered foxspots to contents.
The ideal natural history book in that it shows not only wild nature, but man's place in it. 17 colour and 36 b/w photos with 3 maps of the area. 273 pages includes index. Green cloth, gilt title to spine. New Naturalist series no. 27. Spine slightly bumped. A couple of small indentations to cover edges and some slight fading to cover edges. Small booksellers sticker to front pastedown and name and date in ink to free-endpaper. A couple of small foxspots and a slight musty smell to contents. Dustwrapper is slightly edge worn. This is a 1963 reprint or the second edition published in 1962.
