Its skipper, Willem Jansz went to his grave without knowing that his crew were the first Europeans to land on the shores of the sixth continent. His chart lay undiscovered in the archives for many years. Nearly 400 years later, a small group of people dedicated themselves to the daunting task of bringing the Dufyken story back to life including building a replica ship.
